Many of us have seen the classic Charlie Brown Christmas special. This weekend I purchased a mini Charlie Brown and Christmas poseable tree. Why? Sure I have young children in the practice. Other reasons were compelling as well: Charlie Brown and that special have come to symbolize how love, acceptance, gratitude and Christmas spirit is precious not just material presents or an overdressed expensive looking tree. The lesson and message has stuck with me over the years and every year I remember it well and realize that is what I love so much during the holiday season and why Charlie Brown is so precious to me. People around me who value family values and traditions seem to enjoy the season more than the people competing for the best and most gifts. The parallel is those who have their head on straight and are grateful are often happier, do well in relationships and express and receive love from those around them. Ask yourself am I one of them all the time? If not, you can be, just be grateful for everything around you at all times. I am grateful for many things. The list is too long to mention here, my clients, my friends, familiy, my gifts, blessings and ability to help I love the decorations and endless ways cuteness has found form, in scarecrows, figures, pumpkins, angels, Santa Claus, reindeer and more. Charlie B reminds us to look deeper, to feel, to rejoice and celebrate love and joy and the people around him. Linus is always there to remind us there is spirituality in every day in that movie. Sally reminds us that when the big picture escapes you, you do remember to enjoy the season for the surrounding decorations and ambiance. Now you understand why Charlie Brown will be on my desk today! Incidentally there was a Linus and Sally doll, if I could I would buy it all and arrange it accordingly in the waiting room. :) Enjoy your holiday season and I know you will be grateful like I am for the food, company, warm home and job you have! All the possessions you have whether material (car, clothes, etc)or immaterial like a good sense of humor is a gift from Source, God and all that is. I am thankful for God and all of you.
