US researchers discover certain babies have abnormal serotonin and can't regulate breathing when lying faced down. Other babies sense they need air, turn their head and breathe normally. Babies with the defect can't regulate the carbon dioxide, take too much in and die. This is a much needed finding as many parents berate themselves over the infant's death. Social suspicion is unbearable as society wonders if the parents are to blame. Approximately 2,300 children die this way each year. This information came from Yahoo News.
