US researchers discover certain babies have abnormal serotonin and can't regulate breathing when lying faced down. Other babies sense they need air, turn their head and breathe normally. Babies with the defect can't regulate the carbon dioxide, take too much in and die. This is a much needed finding as many parents berate themselves over the infant's death. Social suspicion is unbearable as society wonders if the parents are to blame. Approximately 2,300 children die this way each year. This information came from Yahoo News.

Wow. Wonderful. I have a cousin who lost a baby to SIDS. It was so horrible and hard to go through but I think what is worse than anything was the "not knowing" for sure. That generic answer/diagnosis of "SIDS" is not an answer as to why you lost something so dear to your world and heart.
I hope this is the beginning of some answers! Thanks for sharing!
